Skin Boosters FAQ

What is a skin booster?

A skin booster is a general term for treatments that deliver active ingredients directly into the dermis to improve hydration, elasticity and skin texture. At Steady Plastic Surgery we offer Skin Botox, the HA skin booster and Rejuran, and we choose the right treatment or combine them depending on your skin concerns.

How is Skin Botox (Dermotoxin) different from standard botulinum toxin injections?

Standard botulinum toxin is injected into the muscle layer to smooth expression lines or reduce muscle bulk, while Skin Botox (Dermotoxin), also called micro botox, is injected shallowly and widely into the dermis to improve pores, fine lines, skin texture, and elasticity. Skin Botox does not paralyze the muscles, so it focuses on smoothing the skin with little change to facial expressions. The procedure takes about 15 minutes, and you can return to daily activities right away.

When do Skin Botox results appear, and how long do they last?

Skin Botox results usually appear about 1 week after treatment and often last about 1–3 months. Duration varies with skin condition and the individual, and regular treatments can help maintain improvements in skin texture and pores.

What are the possible side effects of Skin Botox?

After Skin Botox, temporary small bruises, swelling, and injection marks can occur and usually settle within a few days. Rarely, expressions may feel awkward, so it is important to adjust the dose and depth for each area of the face.

What is an HA skin booster (hyaluronic acid skin booster)?

A hyaluronic acid (HA) skin booster is a procedure that injects concentrated hyaluronic acid directly into the dermis to replenish moisture in the skin, which can help make dry, dull skin look hydrated and glowing (often called 'glass skin'). The procedure takes about 15 minutes under numbing cream or IV sedation, and you can return to daily activities right away.

How is the HA skin booster different from Skin Botox?

The HA skin booster uses hyaluronic acid to restore hydration and glow beneath the skin's surface, while Skin Botox focuses on refining skin texture by reducing pores, oil and fine lines. If dehydrated, dull skin is your concern, the HA skin booster is considered; if enlarged pores and fine lines are your concern, Skin Botox is considered, and the two are sometimes combined.

How long do HA skin booster results last?

HA skin booster results often last about 1–2 months, and starting with about 3 sessions at 4-week intervals can help maintain the effect. Small injection marks or swelling may appear right after the procedure but settle within a few days.

What is Rejuran?

Rejuran is a skin booster that injects PN (polynucleotide) into the skin to support the regeneration of damaged skin and improve elasticity and texture. At Steady Plastic Surgery, we offer Rejuran Healer for skin texture and elasticity, and Rejuran HB+ (Rejuran HB), which adds hydration and is designed to reduce discomfort. The procedure takes about 15 minutes.

How often should I get Rejuran?

Rejuran often gives more noticeable results when repeated 3 times at 4-week intervals rather than done once, and maintenance treatments every 1–3 months are considered afterward. The number of sessions and intervals are set according to your skin condition and goals.

Is Rejuran painful, and does it leave marks?

Rejuran is done after numbing cream, but because many points are injected, you may feel some pain, and at Steady Plastic Surgery it can also be done under IV sedation. If you are worried about pain, Rejuran HB+, which is designed to reduce discomfort, can be considered. Right after the procedure, small raised bumps may appear at the injection sites, but they usually settle within 1–2 days.

What should I be careful about after Rejuran?

After Rejuran, gentle face washing is possible from the next day. It is best to wait until facial redness has settled (usually after 2–3 days) before drinking alcohol, using a sauna or doing strenuous exercise.
